Scenes from the big day

What a month it has been of preparations for the ordination of our new auxiliary bishop... in the words of Eliot, it was a "time for a hundred indecisions, and for a hundred visions and revisions...." What a great team we had and a day for the ecclesiastical history books!

Before the big day

Best way to prepare for a big event: dinner at Burgermaster followed by a visit to Molly Moon's and then the bookstore. Now we're ready.

It's hot up here
A lot up here
And we're up here
Forever.

At HNA

Today we went to Holy Names Academy to help with a reunion Mass.  Holy Names is one of those schools that is so awesome it is kind of intimidating.

There is a typo in the window with the seal of the Holy Names Sisters:

It's supposed to say "Ma force et ma gloire."

Rooms with a view

This afternoon we toured a new building that will provide permanent housing for about 75 homeless men and women. They are small studios with great windows and views.

Blessed Solanus

I am sure you saw the news... Sister Anne's great-uncle Solanus is going to be beatified! Little known fact: he said Mass at the Cathedral several times when he visited his Seattle relatives.

A perfect day

We got to take Zizi on an adventure today. We went on a nature walk.

Zizi in a pensive mood in her new pink glasses:

Exploring the forest the easy way:

Riding all the rides at Crossroads:

We ended the day with dinner and pie with K and D! Our pie had a book, pencil, St Cuthbert's Cross, and more on it!

A pretty perfect day.
