Today marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. In honor of the occasion I got out the Complete Works of Shakespeare mom and father gave me for our birthday about 35 years ago. I underlined one line in the entire book: "What, must our mouths be cold?" from The Tempest. I don't know why I thought that was significant. Maybe it was the only line I didn't understand on page 1. Or, more likely, the only one I did.
