Out and about with Father

Father is in town! We went to the toy store because Z's birthday is right around the corner.

Then we went to another toy store.

I had my picture taken with the pot monster. I think this statue is here because this is what you turn in to if you smoke too much pot.

Big day

What a day! Pope Francis canonized Junipero Serra. I knew him when he was just blessed....

And these girls are now big sisters! Little Laura was born last night. Ella exclaimed, "now when we play house, the baby can be the baby."

In Redmond

Just wearing her superhero cape and planning her third birthday party. Ah, Z.

At the 5:30 Mass

The Women's Schola is back. Also under new mgmt.

At the Ministries Fair

I used the imminent visit of Pope Francis to try to get people to come to the liturgy table. I was partially successful.

Our Romantic garden

"Ah, Sun-Flower! weary of time, / Who countest the steps of the Sun..." (Blake)

" load and bless / With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run..." (Keats)

"A violet by a mossy stone, / Half hidden from the eye!" (Wordsworth)

"Ah, Rose, thou art sick..." (Blake)

Our garden is truly Romantic.

Tonight we got to visit with Gerald and Heidi and their new baby.

Gerald is a dad!

They are doing great.

Teagan thinks Maggie is funny.

A day at home, mostly

Yesterday we went to MOHAI to see the exhibit on the great Seattle fire. M got this picture of the MOHAI geese. Also, the sunflowers I planted in our backyard are doing really well.

At the Elliott Bay Book Co.

Where a cup of tea costs almost as much as a book.

The great Smithlin tea

Today was the long-awaited day of the tea and croquet tournament with the Smith girls! C was fresh from studies in Northumbria, Salisbury, Wales, and London.

Croquet was even classier than usual with the addition of Jane Austen tattoos.

The girls.

Tommy soaking up attention. She doesn't think it's at all strange to be petted and praised by three people at once.

Flat Francis joined our tea party. Tommy loves him.

Free books

Seth set aside a box of old Liturgical Arts magazines and books from the past to see if I wanted any of them. If?!?!?!

In the street

Half of a tree fell down this morning before the 10:00 Mass. It crushed two cars. There were even news cameras.

At home

Just a rainy night at home with the kitties. Almost as good as reading Nancy Drew in the tent.
