At the cell phone waiting lot

They can tell you the altitude and speed of every flight of every airline, but they haven't yet discovered how to land on time.

Tommy and Hairy are just sitting around thinking about how much they miss their friend M, who is still in St Louis.

More needle-felting

My Mr Darcy copied from "Cozy Classics" is starting to look kind of cute from some angles.

Finally, a visit from Z

It seems like ages since we saw our little Z! She found a picture of Pokey on the bookshelf and gave it such a nice kiss.

At the Celebration of Light

The kids were just the tiniest bit distracted by the sight of their faces on the giant screens.

Ingredients for a lovely evening

Not pictured: two kitties and two pieces of key lime pie.

I decided to put my Pope Francis calendar right next to my picture of St Francis holding up the Church with one hand.

Twin in Twin Cities

M is in Minneapolis planning the next Cathedral Ministry Conference. At least she is texting me photos of the amazing Basilica of St Mary.

Crafty Day

Today was stormy. I happened to be in the oculus when the hail/rain hit. It was so heavy you could hardly see the south tower through the window.

In the afternoon it was Crafty Day at Dana's. We did needle felting. I made a hedgehog from a kit, pictured here with the kitty Elizabeth created for us for Christmas. It's a very large hedgehog.

I was feeling pretty good about how cute he was until I saw M's Jane Eyre. She is pretty amazing.

Made me wish I'd tried something more challenging... Maybe St Peter's Basilica or the storming of the Bastille, something like that. Well, there's always the next Crafty Day.

An historic day

The best part of today was looking at old MSS. in the Archives. In the evening M fell in a pile of dog doo. She is fine but the doo got squashed beyond recognition.

January 7

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to take a day off, which allowed me time to do another one of my New Year's Resolutions, which is to fill up my sketch journal. It's really one of those win-win situations.

Blessed Epiphany

We blessed our house with blessed chalk. Not being able to reach above the door, we wrote below it instead. It was a lovely Epiphany!

A day for parties

In the afternoon we went to the wedding of Peg and Paul, whose whirlwind romance makes everyone who knows them and everyone who even just hears about them happy. In the evening it was time for the annual staff Christmas party, at the Sorrento this year. It was rendered fun by the presence of cool people like Jane and Margaret.

A babysitting gig

Tonight we got to babysit our precious little Z! She had fun eating dinner and watching videos with her aunties. We discovered that Zizi does, in some cases, have quite a different taste in cartoons than we do.

At the EMP

We decided to go to the EMP to see the Fantasy exhibit which was rumored to contain a page of manuscript by Tolkien. They did have some cool things like actual costumes from "The Wizard of Oz." However much of it seemed geared to those measuring 4'6" or shorter.
