Almost there

I think this may be my favorite DAB original card of all time.

The washing of feet

Today Jesus washed his disciples' feet; today the Archbishop will wash twelve parishioners' feet. But I think M is the only one who got to wash Jesus' feet.

Holy Thursday

There are traditions and Traditions. Today has many of both.

The many faces of Zizi

In the first picture Zizi is looking at me. In the second, she is looking at Lulu the dog. Someday I hope she will love me as much as she loves Lulu.

Hairy the Handsome

He simply doesn't understand why we have to be at work all day.

Palm Sunday

I love Palm Sunday, but in moderation. I.e., I don't love it so much that I'm disappointed when it gets over.

A visit with mom

Mom found our old dolls and some of their outfits. I'm not sure if this is Sarah (mine) or Elizabeth (M's), but I know mom made the dress for my doll and the lace cape for M's. She looks pretty good for her age.

Out and about

Guess where we are today?

Little girls, little girls...

Last night, we were lucky enough to be able to be with dear friends Anna, David, Bethie, Jason, Charlotte, Ella, and Julia for dinner.  Ella and Charlotte are almost the same age and they hit it off so well when they first met.

One year ago

They were eager to meet again now that they have grown in wisdom, age, and grace.

Charlotte, the English fairy

Ella, plotting mischief in West Seattle
There were many adventures.  There were laughs and screams.  At one point, Ella was found jumping up and down on the changing table.  Julia couldn't believe her eyes.

But there was a truce for dessert:

The royal Patches descended for a brief visitation:

And all's well that end's well.

"Love among the ruins"
"Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye!"
Goodbye, Charlie!  Your godmothers can't wait to see you again.

A busy day

This was a long, long day. We got here early and hung up shamrocks... There was a tour for a visiting choir in the afternoon... At least the readers shared nicely with each other at the 5:30 Mass.

Pope Francis

For the past three mornings I have woken up before the alarm and checked the news to see what Pope Francis will do next. This was the headline in today's VIS newsletter: "POPE FRANCIS: 'OH HOW I WISH FOR A CHURCH THAT IS POOR, AND FOR THE POOR."

It's that time

Time for flower and yard pictures again. It's getting lovely out there already.

An exciting day

Oh, the drama! The suspense! The excitement! The prayers! The happiness! The hope! The exhaustion! Buona sera, e buon riposo.

Media coverage

Channel 5 came to the Noon Mass to film parishioners and talk to Father Ryan. The reporter asked him what he thought about Ratzinberger's resignation. Father Ryan told him that if he was going to be covering the story he might want to get that right. The reporter said, "oh, yeah, I always get him mixed up with the professional hockey player." The reporter also had a lot of questions about "Pope Benedict XIV." Moral of the story: don't believe everything you hear on TV because they really have no idea what they are talking about.

Hear ye, hear ye

I think this poster should be pasted on every lamppost and utility pole in the city.
