Another wedding of note

I asked Gerald whether a blue Aston-Martin with special license plates would be featured in his and Heidi's wedding. Right now, they are more focused on getting Gerald's parents here from Malawi.

We are 80

I am haunted by the poignant words of the poet W. S. Gilbert on the grace that comes with age:

Fading is the taper waist,
Shapeless grows the shapely limb,
And although severely laced,
Spreading is the figure trim!
Stouter than I used to be,
Still more corpulent grow I:
There will be too much of me
In the coming by-and-by.

Another angelic doctor

St Thomas Aquinas was probably just sitting in a shaft of light in the scriptorium one day.

This is almost the day

The list of things to do is soooooo long that I'm taking a break to send this picture to the blog.

At O'Dea they were taking pictures of the baseball team in front of the school. Each boy posed with a bat for the individual photos while the others looked on and mocked.

At a wedding shower

The little girls jumping in the wrapping paper were having even more fun than the big girls watching the bride-to-be open presents.

Tulip Time

It brings to mind the lyric of P G Wodehouse: "Tulip, tulip, tulip time in Sing Sing, O it's there that I would be."

In Lake Forest Park

We went to Third Place Books to look for a card for a wedding shower. The deleterious impact of "Twilight" and "New Moon" on young adult fiction was in evidence.

In Hillman City

On the way back to the car we couldn't help but notice the security system installed at a neighboring house. !!!

We are at St Edward's Parish on S Orcas, where Cardinal Turkson is soon to speak.

A novel idea

After reading about Joanna's adventures in Columbia City, we decided to take the light rail to work this morning. We took a wrong turn, of course, which increased the distance by about a mile, but eventually, we arrived. The sequel is that we are taking the Light Rail home, too.

At an organ recital

Joseph is playing Langlais, Tournemire, Franck, and Dupre. It's been a while since we came to a recital.

A forecast

Easter may be on a different day every year, but there's one thing you can be sure of: the forecast for Palm Sunday will include rain.

More kid stuff

This afternoon I had my annual Easter Vigil meeting with Helen and TerryAnn. It was the first time I stopped to look at the kids' Lent resolutions. My favorites are, "I will be less irritating to my sisters" and "I will donate candy to the food bank."

Lost and found

Most of the time the lost and found is pretty dull. Or weird. But this is really cute. I think a pandacorn is even more of a rarity than a unicorn.
